From a Gulf Coast racer.
If you ever want to Autocross at Bronson do it now!
We are losing our Autocross site. We will hold an event this coming Sunday, June 27th and we hope to have one more on July 29th. After that we don’t have a site to run on. I’m going all out to design fun Grand Finale courses and we plan to have a good time while we can. Come on out and run your cars while we’ve still got the big site! We’re working on other sites but nothing is firm yet and the Gulf Coast Region may not be able to secure a site for the rest of this year.

This is from one of the racers:
The Air Force is converting the site to a parasail (sp) school. They've been talking about this for years but most of the local Navy folks didn't think it would happen anytime soon. We didn't even get a call or any notice. We heard a rumor that everyone that used the site was kicked off as of one week ago. Walt talked to the XO and got us back on for hopefully two months. We're hoping to get another airfield site but we haven't heard anything yet.

Wow, that sucks...makes me feel fortunate that MS has 3 different sites (possibly a 4th in the works) that we can use. I wish them luck...maybe their next site won't be paved with broken clamshells and will be nicer to tires.
