Fun event guys, had a great time. Only one thing, we should have had some sort of TECH. I saw a car that I would failed in autoX. It was missing a front lug as well as the wheel nut.



1. Hebert is NUTS I MEAN NUTS I WANTED TO TELL HIM TO PULL OVER SO I COULD GET OUT.
2. Matt is Gay and he took so many parts off his car he had to work on it for 3 hours


3. Turn one at NPR is not cool at all when a heater hose bust and you do the slide for life leaving the course at 80mph. Ken got it on Vid so we will see. I thought it was going to go ever
4. Work is more important that a track day sorry benson.
5. Darth Civic is good for about 5 hot laps with a blown head gasket and will run times in the low 1:33.2ish according to times Hebert and I were talking about maby a high 1:32.99999999999 maby and is good for low 1:34 with a passenger.
6 Azenis only have so much grip, not bad at all but only so much.
7. Hassan is bad luck every person he rides with goes off course. We went took flight and turned a 14 turn course into a 8 turn course.
8. Red Del Sols dont like turn one and REALLY doesn't like that curb at turn one,
Curb 1 Del sol suspension and wheel 0. Hope it doesn't cost to much to fix.
9. I can catch fast cars in the turns and they leave me in the straight.
10. I got the last autox file from Hassan. They are on paper Will get them up soon.
11. You can break a Honda racing it!!!!! I know I dont beleave it either....

Fun event, though. Got somewhere in the ballpark of 42-49 laps... for 100$. I'd call that a hell of a bargin.

-ran my best laptimes today ever with v710's. 1:26:2 and 1:26:4 (back to back). I now think my car should run a 1:25 with ideal weather, hard-top, little fresher tires, no passenger, clear track, clean track,improvement on turn 8,
-lotus has plenty of potential.. now i want one
-Matt's firebird is fast, even in the turns it's not too shaby. (hey, you got video's of passing us slowpokes?)




the bad:
-they mixed a first timer in with some experienced guys. I almost ran over that first timer at the blind turn 1.
-didn't drive the lotus

1. Chip is not at all afraid to go into a sign place, in Texas, and ask for a pink, "Honk for gay rights" sticker. Dude, even I wouldn't be that ballsy. Did the guy behind the counter hit on you? (but it was a damn good prank)

2. Shiffting from 2nd to 1st going into a straight will break bolts. Luckily, it doesn't break rear ends or trannys!

3. When you take off a heater core, plug those holes GOOD! Sorry to everyone who drove through my fluid on the track.

4. Mongo Racig is DA SHEEEET!!!!!

5. Once my car is healthy, the dang thing flies. FYI, I hit 135 on the straight (redline in 4th is 135).

6. For all you guys who don't hit the brakes going into Turn 1 - holy crap are you nuts! I tried to follow Chris H. in there one time and had half my car in the dirt.

7. V710s hold up pretty good. Not many laps on them, but they got enough to start getting greasy. Don't think I'd want to do 20 laps in August . . .

8. Chip's Lotus is fun to watch. I could have spent hald the day just following him around the course. Beautiful piece of engineering.

9. Hassan through Turns 13 and 14 is also amazing. Wow . . . just wow!

10. I think we can do our TLAC there. It'd be fun!

11. Had lots of fun!

Ken, don't worry about the vid - I think it was the battery. Do you have any video of me from your car? Who was the guy with the telephoto lens taking pictures in the afternoon? He was sitting on the bleachers.

Nice vids. Ken, you are ice. go off course, no cursing shaking of the head or nothing- just a quick glance back on on with business. I would have shit myself. And as i'm sure people have heard, various obsenites can escape my mouth on the course at an autox too......

The car seemed like it slid forever in the grass when I went off. I just kept thinking keep it straight.

I slowed to 90 for turn 1 by the end of the day. the closer I got to the outside wall the bigger the opening got. Over cooked it once and did a straight line through the grass I guess it was turn 2 ? smashed up the air dam when it acted like a shovel.

Wonder how fast the 914 woulda been without the air dam and tail fin. Others in the 914 comunity say the tail fin cost 5 MPH top end. no telling what the "cow catcher" air cost to aero dynamics. I know it had drastic effects on the brakes.

Things I learned:

1. 750 miles (100 being on the track in a Lotus in one day SUCKS!!!!!!!!
2. Redneck jokes are always funny when Matt is there
3. Bumper stickers will never get old
4. Chris H. is now known as the fly
5. I am not willing to overdrive a brand new car, no matter how much I tell myself i can.

I had a great time! I think I got into the high 1:26s according to Heberts accurate timing watch....he still beat me.

If you watch my off course vid, you can see where both driver side wheels came off the ground. Glenn has the still and will post it later. I knew it felt like it was going to go over. Glad it did not!!!! Going to look into a 4 point bolt in for track days.

The 914 was great for 1.5 laps then the brakes overheated.....

I tried using WMV. I also added a slow mo when he went off course.

Before I left the course you can see water spraying under the car where my heater hose blew. But there is also a poping sound, that might be the heater hose blowing

Kerry you are one lucky boy. A couple of cars have rolled there during Grand Bayou Road Races. Glad it only cost you a $17 head gasket and a new pair of underwear

I think I could see water spraying as you come down the straight. Maybe it is just me.

I was driving the s2k behind him. I definately heard something pop right before he went into turn 1.

turn the vol up on that last video and you can hear something pop right before entering turn 1...that was a close one

Just got home and played Kerry sliding off the track.
