Good luck whoever is going to Walnut Ridge this weekend! Make us proud - bring home some bling!!!!
ken o
Thanks! The surface is harsh. I nearly corded a brand new Hoosier on the test course. I had to have it flipped by a guy who tried to sell me a new tire because "this one has no tread on it".

The AS field is TOUGH!!!! No sign of SoloEvo.

If you have his cell PM me.

When do you run tomorrow and Sunday? I'l face north and to a little Ooga Booga dance!!

3rd run group.

Well I suppose Ken is heading howme about now. Anybody know how he did?
ken o
Just got home. No trophy. I finished 6th. Had trouble with handling. Also trashed a new set of Hoosiers. Well, there is always Houston.

I saw the results on scca.org I think you should try the V710s.

Were the new Hoosiers the A6 or AS305 ?
was the surface that abrasive?
ken o
I was thinking about the 710s. FYI - everyone above me had 710s.

The surface was tiny sharp rock mixed with big sharp rocks held together with other tire destroying crap.

I think the Hoosiers lack the ability to stretch and the 710s can. At the limit I think the 710s give, not sliding, but rather stretching on a very small scale. This would also attribute to the difference in turn in form the K to the H tire. The stretch will reduce the crisp feel the H tire has. While at the limit the Hoosiers stay tight giving the crisp turn in. But on a really abrasive surface the bite of the tire is lost when the rubber is pulled away.

But my driving ability was not where it needed to be to compete at that level this weekend. The other drivers in the class were very good.

If you have not competed at a National level event you should consider it. In other sports you are required to work you way through brackets to reach the finals. With Solo2 you can sign up and run. If you are waiting until you can win the class to go, don’t, it will never happen until you go and experience it. You cannot sink a field goal unless you swing at the puck.

At one time Delta and Louisiana was well known at Divisionals and at the National Tours. I realize it is expensive to travel and compete. But give it a try.

I'll have to be satified with "field filler". Like back of the field. Houston was on my schedule but other things have priority.

OK, they're not Ken and Chip. But, here's a whole gallery of Walnut Ridge photos from a fellow F-body guy.

Here's the guy who won ESP - Sam Strano. He sold me all my suspension parts. And, yes, he would have handed me a royal butt-whoopin had I shown up in ESP!!

The guy who owns it was really cool. I talked to him about it. He said you should have gone to the Tour. OK, he didn't, but he was really into his P-car.
ken o
What surprise?
joe_914
Yea all old P-car owners are into thier cars. Most of us are cool. Yea I shoulda gone but sometimes things don't always work out as they should.

That car looks like it's going 100 miles an hour sitting still.
